From Kitman to Kick-Off, Nivea Try to Re-write Football History
The world has been stunned as Nivea has proven that when it comes to football, preparation is everything! It all began back when Nivea announced it would be taking on a football experiment and one lucky Sunday league team would get the amazing opportunity of being trained by some of the most well-known football professionals in England and then have the change to play against them in the England Legends game. The lucky team selected was Ivory FC and Nivea took them under its wing to bring about an amazing result.
Nivea arranged for the whole Ivory FC team to take part in the most intensive training and preparation sessions they had ever experienced before. FA and England coaches came in to do the training and the team were give support from some of the top physical experts in all of England. The training was not all physical either. The team was given education on important nutrition information and they were given a brand new Umbro kit as well. Of course, the greatest opportunity was coming up and that was a chance to take on a team of real football legends.
While the experiment was considered by many to be worthy cause and an interesting venture, football fans and sports commentators were not so convinced that this help from Nivea would be able to thrust the Ivory FC team into any sort of victory against England legends, but the small team would prove them all wrong. After months of training, pushing their bodies to extraordinary limits, preparing mentally, physically and emotionally, the team went to battle against England Legends and put their hearts on the line. They walked away with a 2-1 victory and the real result was a life-changing experience beyond anything they could have imagined.
Nivea tried and succeeded at re-writing football history and in fact proving to the entire world that preparation is everything. Niagara University
A majority of Niagara’s academic departments and faculty are housed within Arts and Sciences, including: Biochemistry/Chemistry, Biology/Life Sciences, Communications, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, English, History, International Studies, Liberal Arts, Mathematics, Modern Languages, Nursing, Political Science, Philosophy, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology, Social Sciences, Social Work, and Theater Studies. The College of Arts and Sciences also offers Master’s degrees in both Criminal Justice Administration and Interdisciplinary Studies. On October 8, 2008, Niagara University announced that a $10 million gift, the largest gift in the university’s history, had been made to the College of Arts and Sciences by B. Thomas Golisano, the CEO of Paychex and the owner of the Buffalo Sabres.
The gift will fund a new science building, to be known as the B. Thomas Golisano Center for Science.
The project is scheduled for completion by 2011. With programs in Accounting, Business Administration, and Commerce, the College of Business continues to enhance its academic standing at the local, regional, and national levels. Each year, students in the College of Business conduct tax return processing as a community service for area residents. On January 23, 2006, the University announced a gift of $5 million from College of Business alumnus Gerald Bisgrove, Class of 1968. At the time, it was the largest single gift in Niagara’s 150-year history. $4.5 million of this gift has been appropriated to expand the College of Business facilities.
Groundbreaking occurred on this project in May 2006, and Bisgrove Hall was opened to the public in August 2007. The remainder of Mr. Bisgrove’s gift will be allocated to academic scholarships in the College of Business. Niagara has a long-standing commitment to training teachers for K-12 schools. Education students major in the College of Education and choose a concentration in the College of Arts and Sciences. Student teaching takes place in area schools, many of which are located in rural or low-income urban districts.
